I was dealing roulette in the pit towards the back of the casino near the sports book area. My table was nearly full when a young man in his 20’s with dark skin and black hair walked up and took the last seat. He bought in with two $20 bills and when he handed me the money I noticed that they were greener then normal and strangely cropped. I put them to the side instead of dropping it in the drop box and I gave him his roulette chips like normal. He started playing and I got the floorman, Brian’s attention. I showed him the bills and he thought they looked suspicious as well so he called the shift manager, Karen over to look. I continued to deal and the kid didn’t notice the commotion over his fake bills. Karen came to the pit and took the two bills away. She went to her office to look at a folder of counterfeit money. About 20 minutes later Karen came back to the pit and announced loudly enough for the kid to hear, “The 2 bills you gave me were definitely counterfeited.” The kid started to look really nervous and he tried to pick up his roulette chips and leave; but I called out to him, “Sir, if you take those chips off the table they will be completely worthless. You have to exchange them for normal chips.” That brought him back. I colored him up slowly so Brian could call security and the cameras. While he was leaving, the eye-in-the-sky got his picture and compared it to the video of him giving me the counterfeit money. They caught him right before he left the casino; security called metro police and he went to jail.
