I have a casino story if you're interested. I like to call it "Four Lucky Cuts." I was playing blackjack at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut with a table full of out-of-state tourists such as myself. I joined the game mid-shoe and sat at first base. At the end of my first shoe, I received the cut card. At the end of the shuffle procedure, I cut the deck but I couldn't get the cut card where I wanted it. At any rate, we loaded up the shoe again and started to play. I was generally on a lukewarm trend (winning and losing about the same), but my table mates were winning and winning. Then, when it came time to shuffle again, I again received the cut card. So I cut again, and our table went on another winning streak. Then came the third shoe and AGAIN I received the cut card. I cut that shoe and we won some more. But on the fourth shoe, the timing was different. The cut card ended up a seat or two to my left. That player passed the cut card to me. And guess what? We went on yet ANOTHER winning streak. I had lost the majority of my $40 stake, but this time I got a piece of the action. I won my losses back plus $20 on top of that, turning my $40 stake into $60. Not bad for 2 hours of play!
